I am very happy to talk today about the Bloggers Helping Bloggers (BHB) program that Jana from Daily Money Shot started earlier this month.
I noticed the badge on her site and inquired a bit late, but Jana was gracious enough to take me on, with no less than her as a mentor!
What is the BHB program?
It is a 12 weeks program where you are paired with another blogger, as your mentor or mentee depending on which side of the blogosphere you stand.
Tushar from Everything Finance is mentoring John from My Family Finances
Daniel from Sweating the Big Stuff is mentoring Kristen from Thrifty and Fit
Eric from Narrow Bridge is mentoring Lance from Money Life and More
Luke from Consumerism Commentary is mentoring Jacob from I Heart Budgets
Michael from Money Beagle is mentoring Brent from On Target Coach
Jacob from My Personal Finance Journey is mentoring Jennifer from Broke Ass Mommy
Miss T from Prairie Eco Thrifter is mentoring Jenniemarie from Another Housewife
Robert from The College Investor is mentoring Carvin from Rule Your Wallet
Simon from Sustainable Personal Finance is mentoring Steve from Money Plan SOS
Anna from Classy Career Girl is mentoring Jennifer from To My Girlfriends
Carrie from Careful Cents is mentoring Shareeke from The Counscious Spender
Athena from Serendipity’s Guide to Saving is mentoring Bog of Debt from Bog of Debt
Andrea from Smart Money Chicks is mentoring Sofia from Caviar and Quarters
Ryan from Ryan Eggenberger is mentoring Erin from Dog Ate My Wallet
And Jana from Daily Money Shot mentors me 🙂
Each participant of the program agrees to exchange at least once a week with his or her mentor or mentee.
As Jana’s mentee, I have already asked her about many things like
-
Blogging in general
-
How she started her site
-
Blogging in the open or anonymously
-
Monetizing your blog
-
Guest posting
-
Frequency of content
-
What to blog about
-
How to do it
-
Organizing your agenda as a blogger
-
Blog design
-
Content ideas
-
Promoting your blog
-
Finding your readership
-
Struggles as a debuting blogger
-
And much more…
I am reporting weekly, and we also talk during the week about other details. It is really nice to have a referent who can relate to what you are going through and point you in the right direction.
As an experienced blogger, Jana has been of great help, and we are only starting!
I hope over the next few weeks to get acquainted with the other members of the program that I don’t know yet, and that we can all help each other out!
Want to know more?
You can have a look on Jana’s site, she has a comprehensive article about what the Bloggers Helping Bloggers program can bring you, as a mentor and a mentee. You can also check that Facebook group.
Are you part of the program? What have your learned so far? Please say HI!
This post was featured on the Outlier Model, thank you!
Sounds like a great idea Pauline. I think I just may have to check it out more in depth. I like the idea of the one on one relationship and I am sure it can be a learning opportunity for both parties.
Yes, one on one is a wonderful luxury!
Mentors are usually great to have and hard to find.
You are right Marie, I hope to return the favor one day, it is a really selfless thing to do.
Thanks for sharing that information. It seems like a program that I could benefit from.
Hi Terry! As Jana said below, you can get more info on her website.
Thanks for spreading the word, Pauline! I think you’re doing a great job as a mentee…amidst an international move, no less!
For anyone who is interested, please check out the post on my site that Pauline linked to and read all of the details. If you’re still interested after that, send me an email.
Thanks Jana!
Sounds like a great idea. As a new blogger myself, I could probably use this too. Hmmmm, you’ve given me something to think about.
It is really helpful, give it some thoughts!
Jana is AWESOME. I am so thankful for the program. Looking forward to connecting with all the members too!
Thanks for stopping by Jenniemarie! Maybe we can think about something to do between mentees, like a blogswap or a carnival.
I am not part of the program, but I have heard of it and will look into it now 🙂
What a great idea! Oh man I wish I had the time for that right now! I hope it goes well!
I only just heard about this! What a great idea – might have to try get in on the next round.
you can contact Jana for all the info, it is a cool project.
