Long time no blog! I am using this time of quarantine as a way to get reacquainted with the wonderful habit of journaling and blogging with a first person voice, keeping you and me entertained in the process. You may feel like you have missed a few episodes, or rather a whole season! I will try to catch up as we go. In the meanwhile, stay safe and wash your hands 🙂
I have had an especially short temper lately, which is something I’m not super proud of, and since I am usually a delight to be around (sarcasm), we’ll put it 100% on account of the Coronavirus.
I have been snapping at my husband a lot, for futile things that won’t matter in two days. I don’t even remember the things from two days ago. I have even been *gasp* snapping at my adorable dogs for misbehaving.
See, they came from the Guatemalan jungle where they roamed freely all day, so we are still adjusting to leashed and having neighbors. Kodiak barks at everyone, and then wants to hug everyone, thinking he is a lap dog and not a fully grow Great Dane.
On the husband front, I think it’s just that some days, living in 300sqft feels a bit small for everyone. He is on leave these days, so we should be able to enjoy that some more.
What has been helping a lot has been getting some fresh air on the beach, taking the dogs on a walk, or going cycling. I come back refreshed and feeling more human.
But sometimes the growl monster wakes up as soon as I do, because the dog dropped its food bowl or my site got hacked (not this one, another one, major pain in the ass).
I find my shorter than usual attention span makes me unable to focus on say, getting the site cleaned up for viruses, then if there is music on the background or my husband wants to talk, I just walk away pissed.
Ugh, not good. I’m sure everyone has had their mood affected lately, but it’s time to be kind with people around us. We’re all dealing the best we can and we’re only human.
