I am thrilled to announce that I am joining the Yakezie Challenge as of today!
I know many of you are already challengers but if you do not know already, Yakezie is a network of great financial bloggers and they run a six months challenge before accepting you (or not!) as a permanent member.
One of the goals of the Yakezie challenge is to break a big Alexa Rank barrier, usually of 200K for new bloggers.
As of writing, my Alexa ranking is 130,819, so per the rules of the challenge I am hoping to break 100K before May 24th, 2013.
The other rules are writing consistently for the next three months and networking as much as possible with other bloggers of the network. This is done by visiting their blogs, tweeting their posts, commenting on their sites, etc. By helping others you are helping yourself as traffic and promotion will grow on your site too.
I am quite happy with the growth of this site, but I guess you never have too many friends, and Sicorra just started the Winter challengers group which is a great initiative to get to know more intimately 7 other bloggers in a team of 8. This is what decided me to jump in, thank you Sicorra!
That’s it for tonight!
Are you part of the Yakezie? What is your experience?

Welcome to the challenge Pauline. I joined a few weeks ago and it has been great. I have done some quality networking and have also joined with winter challengers group. Good luck with bringing down your ranking.

Congratulations on joining the challenge. I joined a few weeks ago, and I must admit that it’s doing exactly what it’s supposed to for me.
Good luck with the challenge Pauline. I’m sure that you’re going to reach 100k sooner than you think.

Congrats! I joined when I switched to self hosted less than 2 months ago and quickly moved from 11 million to ALMOST 200k…I’m hopeful this is my week!! You’ll knock off that last 30k super fast. Michelle from Sense of Cents has a good post about Alexa ratings, I’d link it for you but I can’t get her page to load for me right now.

Yeah Pauline!! So glad you signed up today! Thanks so much for the mention too and welcome to Yakezie!

Awesome Pauline! I know you’ll do great, especially since you’re already doing so much of what’s expected. I am confident that you should be surpassing the 100k barrier in no time. I’ve been in the Challenge for almost two months, and it’s been great.

I thought about joining, but my blog is growing organically enough for me at the moment. I may join up in the new year if I feel I am lacking motivation.

Have fun!

Thank you Sam, by questionnaire you mean adding myself to the list of challengers? I did that already but can’t seem to find any other questionnaire on the forums.

I’m so glad you joined! I have found it to be useful but haven’t spend nearly as much time in the forums as I should. It’s great for networking with other bloggers and seeing what is work for them.

I joined a while back but haven’t probably done as much with it as I should. I did join the winter group, so hopefully that will kick me into gear.
