I’m happy to announce my 30 days series about how to reach financial independence. This is not a bootcamp to get your finances in order, more a guideline on how to get started on the way to financial independence.
Once you go through it with me, talking about how much you need to be financially independent, how to save more, earn more, and so on, you will be able to decide if that kind of altering life choice is right for you. Some people are perfectly happy going every day to the same office, for the next 40 years or so, and I respect their dedication and passion when doing their job.
On the other hand, other people do not want to follow the masses. They want to live life on their terms, deliberately, and financial independence is the way for them.
It is definitely the way for me. I couldn’t picture myself working all year to live in a shoebox apartment, commute two hours a day, and buy overpriced cocktails at night to forget about how much I hate my job. I’d rather have the freedom to wake up when I want, and do what I want all day.
This life you want to create for yourself will not happen overnight. You can dream about being fit and slim like a model, and you can work toward that goal. That will not make you fit and slim overnight either. But if you are highly motivated, there is definitely a way. So without further ado, let me prove to you that financial independence can be achieved and is really awesome!

Great series, I enjoyed it, and it’s interesting how many of the conclusions were the same for me though I have nothing like your travelling lifestyle 😉 You might want to know Step 12 isn’t linked right here (it goes to 11). As a reader a link to the previous and next in the series from each page might also help – it’s a superb distillation of the essential points!

Thank you Ermine, I’ll install a next and previous post widget, I’ve delayed that for a while now but for those kind of things like series, it is very much needed.
You don’t have to have a similar lifestyle to want to reach financial independence. Some people dream of being stay at home parents, other start a homestead, or volunteer at a local charity, the common denominator is everyone gets to do what they love because money is no object anymore.

Oops – and Step 30 didn’t work for me either – goes to 29
